I spent the day piecing a lap quilt that I can’t show you until January. I will say it was a fast project and I really like the fabric I’m using. It went together so fast I was ready for basting before I knew it!
Here’s a picture of the back after I got the quilt basted. Isn’t this print fun?
There are lots of solid white pieces in the top so I wanted to use a white batting. I usually just go for the natural color since that is the easiest to find where I live, but my LQS does carry a few white packages of Quilters Dream so that’s what I bought.
I love to use the Quilters Dream Select, but could only find the Quilters Dream Request in white. The package says ‘thinnest loft, excellent for machine quilting.’ So far I can confirm the “thinnest loft” claim. 🙂 I’ve never worked with a batting so thin before. I actually considered using a double layer of it in this project, but decided against it. I want to see how drape-y (yes, I’m SURE that’s a word) and soft this batting will be.
Tomorrow I’ll begin quilting so I’ll let you know how it goes.
Meanwhile, since I can’t show you pictures of the project I’m going to show you the scraps I have from piecing the blocks. I’m sure these will end up in a pillow or something!
Linking up with WIP Wednesday and Let’s Bee Social. Be sure to check out all the other great WIP’s!
I really love the colours in Pedal Pushers. I bought a jelly roll that I started using for a project that’s now not being worked on (lol). I like some prints and colour combos more than others in the line, but most of them are so vibrant and fun!
That’s a nice teaser with the fabric leftovers. It looks like it will be a really nice quilt.
Love that backing fabric! Oh so pretty! May have to buy some for myself!
Lovely! I am not a pink person, but I really like the backing fabric.
