It is time once again for the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day and I’m so excited to be participating. If you are unfamiliar with Giveaway Day, it is basically a huge linky party where bloggers link up on the Sew Mama Sew blog and share the giveaways they are hosting.
It’s a wonderful way to find new blogs and new inspiration, and enter to win some really great gifts!
I would like to welcome everyone who is visiting, and if you are new I hope you’ll take some time to look around. I have been blogging for about a year and have met some wonderful people. Here are a few of the projects I’ve worked on this last year:
- Hopscotch
- Bee Hive Quilt
- Team Spirit – OSU
- Pretty in Pink
- Checker Star Mini
- New Beginnings
- All Mixed Up
- Summertime Sizzler
The quilts I have finished are listed on the links above ‘2014 Quilts’ and ‘2015 Quilts’. Clicking on the picture from those pages will take you to the post that provides more information about each quilt.
For this giveaway, I am proud to offer Three (3) PDF patterns from Meadow Mist Designs. Cheryl’s patterns are easy and fun to make and well written. I really enjoy her patterns and hope you will too.
The three patterns are Broken Frames, Peanut Butter, and Scrappy Tiles. Pictures below:
- Peanut Butter
- Scrappy Tiles
- Broken Frames
I am also including two charm packs – More of This ‘N That by Nancy Halvorsen for Benartex. This will help you get started on either the Broken Frames or Peanut Butter quilt pattern!
The giveaway is open to everyone and will run through Tuesday, May 12. I’ll announce the winner on Wednesday, May 13.
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment letting me know if you are a fan of precuts and which precut you most like to use.

Hi Beth, Pre-cuts Yes! Fat Quarters is what I usually buy however I’m not gonna turn down a Layer Cake, Charm Pack, Jolly Bar, etc. It’s great to have just what you need already precisely cut and ready to roll. Thank you for your generous giveaway.
I like fat quarters.
My favorite precut is fat quarters. It seems like it’s not too much, not too little. And I love pulling them from all different lines.

I adore pre cuts (hey – the cutting is pretty much done!) and prefer charm packs and layer cakes. My jelly rolls are mostly used for decoration (they look so pretty!).
I love charm packs
The patterns are great, and I love the fabric line. Probably because of cost, I use more charm packs than anything. I do like layer cakes, though, and have used turnovers, honeybuns and jelly rolls.

Charm pack and fat quarters are my best fav
I’ve never used precuts before, but am definitely interested in giving them a try. Seems like it would make the whole quilting process go faster.
I LOVE precuts, mostly charm packs. I hate cutting, it is the thing I like least about quilting, so precuts are fantastic!
I follow through bloglovin.
I like fat quarters and layer cakes.
I’m very new to quilting so everything is new to me and unexplored yet. I like fat quarters cuz they give more flexibility especially to those new to quilting like me.
I love diggiging through my scrap pins as I usually make small projects where you can use small pieces of fabric, so anything from a mini charm, through to a fat eight is very welcome. I really love charm packs and layer cakes simply for the variation you get, rather than buying fatquarters or half yards. Many thanks for your giveaway!
I follow you via bloglovin 🙂

I love using FQ’s and charm packs. Sometimes I use jelly rolls but I never seem to use layer cakes. Thanks for the chance to win!
I like fat quarters. I like to have more of the same in a quilt than charms offer! Plus..love your OSU quilt.. I am an Ohio Buckeye…don’t like football but grew up near Columbus.
I’ve never used precuts smaller than a fat eight, but have started cutting my scraps into 2.5″ squares so I will eventually have a chance to put some stacks together and see what happens.
I have never used precuts before, so not sure if I am a fan of them or not, lol!!! If I like a fabric I tend to want more than a square or strip of it.
I am a long time follower via Bloglovin’.
I love using layer cakes, I get enough to make a quilt but not so much that I am using it forever!
I’m a bit too poor to do more than window shop and drool most of the time, ha, but I often see precuts that spark all kinds of ideas! Would love to try some out.
I like layer cakes if I can’t afford FQs. The are big enough to use productively but not so big as to break the bank. Although I confess I’ve indulged in every sort of precut I’ve found.
precuts are tricky – I’m very peculiar in my taste so I often end up not liking half of the fabrics in the pack – on the other hand that way I actually use fabrics that I’m not completely comfortable with using …so it’s good and bad at the same time.

As I am getting into quilting more and more I am learning to love and appreciate precuts. I like charm packs as an affordable way to get a taster of a collection. I would love to try a jelly roll project and Layer cakes are a bit more flexible. I am a bit of a yardage girl naturally though as I love to sew cloths for my daughters.

Thanks for the giveaway – I love your beehive quilt 🙂 I love precuts but find it hard to use them as they look so perfect all stacked or rolled up! My favourite is the jelly roll I think, a little bit of each x
Layer cakes are my favorite to use. I also like charm packs and sometimes buy them to sample a fabric line. If I decide I really like it then I might buy a layer cake or some yardage.
I must admit, I like both. I just love playing with fabric and quilting.

I am beginning to warm up to the idea of precuts – they have always seemed a bit like cheating to me but I am beginning to dislike (hate to use the word hate) cutting out these days – unfortunately I have a room full of yardage!! Plan B was to teach hubby to cut out and he is very good!

I go back and fourth on precuts. Single fat quarters have a tendency to sit around piling up… but fat quarter bundles can be awesome for certain patterns. Charm packs are so pretty and easy to pick up, but then I end up hoarding them like golem. And when I do finally find something I want to use my preciouses on, I never have enough of them. Jelly rolls are one of those things that you have to pick up after finding a quilt pattern that calls for them, since they are a little harder to find uses for.
so far I have only bought by the yardage. will have to try pre-cuts sometime

Charm packs are the bomb! Great for table runners, purses, and I especially love giving them as a gift in quilt class. I’m not much on the mini’s too small for me! I only have 5 inch and above sewing projects. LOL I’m lazy like that. Great blog btw!!!

I love FQs, charm packs and layer cakes. 🙂
I don’t buy a lot of precuts but I would like to get more. Fat quarters and charms are probably my favorites.
I do love a pretty FQ bundle, though typically I tend towards yardage (fabric hoarder tendencies and I also sew garments for my kids!). I love the idea of charm packs and layer cakes, but I often don’t have an immediate plan for fabric (bad, bad fabric shopper, I know!). Thanks- love the scrappy tiles quilt!
I haven’t used precuts much, just two jelly rolls. Would love to try charm packs.
