Some of the printed panels available to quilters today are just so stinkin cute! I always feel like i don’t know what to do with a panel, but after quilting these two quilts for Emily I realized that sometimes simple is best. KISS – Keep It Simple Silly!
Look at this fun frog quilt.

Emily took a really cute panel and added three borders to it. Voila! Cuteness overload for some sweet child.
To keep the fun vibe of the quilt I used an E2E design that emphasized the leaping of the frogs.

The design is called Cascade that I purchased from Urban Elementz. If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know I get a lot of designs from them. Cascade is so fun and I’ve used it on several different quilts. I thought it was perfect for this panel.
The second panel quilt I got to play with was this fun one:

Again, a panel and three borders and a finished quilt top is born. These goats are having fun playing with the bees, so of course I had to stitch some bees!

Perfection!
These were really fun to quilt up and I finished them both on the same day. I love having projects like these to act as a sort of breather between custom quilting jobs. Emily has dropped off two more panel quilts, so I’m excited to load them in the next few days.
Happy quilting!
Oh, what fun that froggie quilt is and the quilting design too. I noticed a sale at UE….yikes.
I rarely get a panel because they never seem to be straight! it will look like it is and then you lay it out and possible fold it over to see if the corners line up right and they will be way off – you need to be creative sometimes to get a border around them.
