Don’t you just love that feeling you get when you start a new project? The anticipation of taking a pile of fabric pieces and turning them into a work of art – which is what every quilt is.  I enjoy each step of the quilt making process.  Cutting, sewing, pressing, squaring, choosing the layout, and finally, assembling all the blocks into a top just makes me feel good when I look at it.

I’ve started a new project and I can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s done. Here’s a peek at the fabric I’m using:

The most difficult part for me is pulling together pieces of fabric that play well together. I’m always studying other people’s work and am amazed at how they seem to instinctively know what will look good once it’s all put together.  I see prints or colors that I never would’ve used together, but love when I see them in a quilt.  I lack that vision but I’m practicing on every quilt I make.

I hope the fabrics I chose for my next project work together once the blocks are made. I will say, after making the HST, I am hopeful it’s all going to work.

Yep, I did it again……this time there are 64 HST. Here they are, all ready to be squared:

Yep! 64 of them!

And here they are, once I got them squared up. Ready to be sewn into blocks:

I’ll keep you updated on my progress.  What part of the quilt making process do you like most?
