Yippee! It’s Monday again….and you know what that means!
MAIN CRUSH MONDAY is here! Let’s get excited to start another week of sewing and spread some quilting love. 🙂
One of the projects I’m going to be working on in the next few weeks is a Scrap Basket Quilt Along sponsored by Crazy Mom Quilts. So, if you need to pare down your scraps, this one is for you. We will be making a rail fence quilt and have the opportunity to donate it to Margaret’s Hope Chest. If you’re interested in the quilt along, you can find the details here.
As you’ve heard me say before, I struggle when it comes to putting together fabrics for a quilt. But in last weeks post about the quilt along, Amanda Jean talked about color selection and gave examples which was extremely helpful.
Armed with all that advice, off to the store I went. I don’t have a large amount of scraps or a large stash, so I pulled the following fat quarters based on one of her examples.
I think they work well together, but I won’t know till I start sewing because I’m not comfortable with my choices.
I know my confidence in fabric selection will grow as I practice, but who knew this part of the quilt making process could be so darn scary?
I must say, I do love these colors. (I haven’t licked them yet……but maybe soon…..) 🙂
I’m also really excited about participating in a project that helps others. My life is so blessed, and I want to share that. I think the Scrap Basket Quilt Along is the perfect project for me to take on next. So that is my crush for this Main Crush Monday.
So, what are you crushing on today? I’d love to hear from you. You can link up below or leave a comment. Please take some time to visit any of the links and comment on their blogs. We really do like to read your comments!

I really like your color selection for your rail fence project. Good job picking colors that work great together! Looks like you have a nice mix of values – lights and darks – in your palette too.
