I have such a crush on solids and HST’s right now! Last week I gave Anthony his quilt in all those lovely shades of greens and blues and he loved it. The post about that quilt can be found here:
That bundle purchase turned out so well I just had to get another one – this one in such pretty shades of pink.
There are a few fat quarters missing from the picture because I couldn’t wait to cut into it. 🙂 Sunday afternoon I whipped up this adorable baby quilt.
Again, it’s a simple pattern but the ombre look of it is so effective. There is simple straight line quilting on the diagonal, which keeps the quilt soft and cuddly. The binding is scrappy using the same colors as the piecing.
I also used flannel for the first time as a backing. I will definitely be doing that again! This quilt is soft and cuddly and snuggly and just perfect for a sweet baby girl.
And just because I can, here’s another picture. This is the binding, which is made from the scraps of the fat quarters. I love using up the scraps!
I can’t wait to see what else I can do with the rest of this bundle!
Quilt Stats: Finished Size: 33.5″ x 36.5″ Fabric: Kona Solids and Robert Kaufman Flannel Batting: Quilters Dream 100% Cotton – WhiteLater this week I’ll be posting my thoughts on the Bloc-Loc ruler I used to trim these triangles. Stay tuned!
This beauty is available in my Etsy shop.
I love it! This quilt is stunning in its simplicity.
Awesome finish. Can’t wait to hear what you think of the Bloc-Loc. I keep looking at them, but haven’t taken the plunge yet.
How lovely! Incorporating the color gradation into the binding is inspired!
This is so so so cute! Looks comfy, almost makes me want another little girl(almost)! The quilting is fab! A great pattern for a baby quilt, Good job Beth!
This one is beautiful too!! I can’t decide which one I like best, they’re both too cute!
What a lovely quilt! Using the same fabrics for the binding really ties it together nicely. 🙂
