Earlier this year Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs asked if I would be interested in testing her Sea Star quilt pattern. I have tested for Cheryl before and enjoy her patterns a lot. They are well written, and easy to understand with graphics that explain each step. So when she asked, I immediately said yes.
I previously wrote about my finished quilt – you can read that post with details here.
Cheryl is releasing her Sea Star pattern today and has offered to give one of my readers their own copy. So I am having a giveaway!
I went out this morning and took a couple more pictures. Because you can never have too many pictures of a beautifully finished quilt. Right?
The grass was pretty wet from a heavy dew we had the night before. I wore a pair of flip flops out and my feet were soaked and I was slipping out of my shoes, so I just took them off. Walking in the cool wet grass took me back to my childhood when my sisters and I ran barefoot all the time. Something I hardly do outside now.
So, for the giveaway, I thought it would be fun to hear from all of you – do you go barefoot in the grass often? Just a silly question, but a fun one. Leave a comment to enter the giveaway and I will have Mr. Random Number Generator select a winner when I get back from my trip next week. Anyone can enter – the winner will receive a PDF copy of the Sea Star pattern.
If you can’t wait for the drawing and want to purchase your own copy, Cheryl has it for sale in her Craftsy, Etsy, and Payhip shops.
Have a great weekend, and if you get the chance, take a stroll with your shoes off! 🙂

Love the quilt and the colors are my favorites. So pretty. I am always barefoot in the house but seldom outside. I will go barefoot if I have to run outside and don’t want to take the time to find my shoes. have fun on your trip.
When we lived in the midwest (Ohio) and Pacific Northwest (Seattle) – absolutely. Unfortunately, the grass where we live now (in Florida) is this really rough, thick, crab grass variety and it’s just awful for going barefoot. You’re also likely to step on a frog, snake, or gecko as well. And BTW, one of the other testers asked what color I’d make this pattern in and I chose the colors you used! It’s beautiful!
Your colors made me squeal with excitement. Lovely! No barefeet for me. I always have something on my feet, even inside.
Thanks for pattern testing for me, your version is beautiful!
No barefoot in the grass for me. I am a flip flop person in the summer. I just don’t like the feeling plus we have a few too many critters in our yard for that.
Love the quilt – your colors are wonderful
I love going barefoot but don’t do it too often anymore!
I go barefoot as often as possible! That cool grass feels awesome!
I barely wear shoes from late spring to early fall. My feet are always dirty but I love walking in my yard with bare feet. I enjoy the colors you used in your quilt. Pretty.
Ha I thought it was just me who loved being barefoot in the grass – my husband finds it hilarious! I’m so glad I finally got my own garden, I never wear shoes in the summer out there 🙂
love going barefooted , love the colors in your quilt.
Beautiful photos of a very pretty quilt. Grass is too dry here now, so unfortunately no barefoot in the grass here.

Love your choice of colors. It’s my favorite Sea Star so far.
It was fun reading the replies to your question. I am forever barefoot. As I get older I do wear socks indoor in the winter but when the weather heats up I am barefoot at home all the time.
Hi! I live in Southern California, so bare foot often but with the drought not too much grass left anywhere. :(. Your quilt is beautiful and thank you for the chance to win!
Barefoot actually today! We have a wonderful mist type watering thingie majig! It was spraying on me as I was putting out the summer solar lights in the garden! Love your quilt! Says “Summer” all over! Thanks for the chance to win!
No I don’t go barefoot in the grass. This quilt is beautiful. I like this pattern.
I’m such a pansy…my pretty little feet (ha ha–you would laugh too if you saw them) can’t take it if I don’t put shoes on! Love the Sea Star pattern—would love to make one for myself.
I would never walk barefoot in the grass; barefoot on the beach is a totally different story though! You version of this quilt looks great. Thanks for the chance to win!
Love love love to go barefoot in the summer, especially after work taking my shoes off after a long day and playing in the grass with my grandson. Love the quilt!
Nope. Not at all. I live in the country and have country grass that I call “6 inch grass;” one blade every six inches. kthurn@bektel.com
I do go barefoot in the grass! I love good, green grass underfoot on a hot summer day!
No, unfortunately, there are too many critters out there in the grass. Thanks.
I love going barefoot in the grass when it’s warm enough outside!
We have a dog… I wouldn’t want to step in his business!! Lol
i love walking on the grass barefoot except when it is wet.
Love to be barefoot in the grass 🙂 Sadly our backyard and front yard are currently dirt during the yard renovations 🙂 Hopefully by this time next year we will be back to running around the yard again shoeless.
I love going barefoot in the yard right after it’s mowed, especially if it is wet outside. It keeps from getting grass clippings all over my flip flops. Just watch out for the pesky bees…ouch
Great quilt…love the orange. I don’t go barefoot as I’m allergic to grass.
Hello Beth! I would love to walk barefoot, but I have free range chickens running around leaving lots of unpleasant deposits everywhere. Hope you have a great trip!! Shellie
Always!
No bare feet for me…I stepped on bee as a kid so now it’s always sandals 🙂
I love that feeling well, wet grass between your toes. And sometimes, when my feet are feeling hot and dry, I’ll take a walk across our small lawn, back and forth, a couple of times. My neighbors must be highly amused.
I did when I was younger, now?, never. sigh
Nope, I always wear my shoes.
No, I keep my shoes/flip flops on!
Indoors I am barefoot almost all the time, outdoors not so much. I went barefoot in the grass when I was a kid, but after stepping on bees many times, I’m all about shoes! Entertaining question.
Yes, I do, barefoot is liberating
Your version of this pattern is so pretty, Beth! Congratulations on this fabulous finish. And I agree…. You can not have too many photos of quilts! I go barefoot in the house always. And occasionally outside, too!
I very seldom go barefoot in the grass, simply because it is so cold here most summers!
That quilt looks beautiful. Great job. I love to go barefoot. Have a wonderful trip and safe travels.
Thanks for the opportunity to win.
Not me, I don’t even go barefoot inside! Your version of Sea Star is beautiful!
No, I’m not a barefoot person. I prefer socks and sneakers all the time!
I would prefer to go barefoot all the time if weather permitted. 🙂 Barefoot feels great. Your quilt is lovely. (debbie at wowilikethat dot com)
I am not a barefoot person and if I do not in the grass – but my daughter loves to! tks – your quilt is lovely!
I go barefoot as often as I can – grass is my favourite surface!
No barefoot in the grass here. Too many snakes!
