On Wednesday I shared a picture of the pinwheel blocks I am making for one of the sports themed quilts I was asked to make. I’m happy to report that I have the top finished! Yay!! But. I finished it late in the evening and wasn’t able to get pictures. I will have to share it with you a bit later. Until then, here’s a look at a finished quilt I haven’t shown you yet.
I finished this baby quilt a couple of weeks ago but didn’t do a finish post because I was waiting for decent weather to get some good shots. Then I got busy, and forgot. So today I want to share with you this sweet little quilt!
This is the Sea Star pattern I tested for Cheryl @ Meadow Mist Designs. I really like the colors I choose to use; they are so much fun. Fabric selection is a skill I’m still practicing and one I am not totally comfortable with yet. To have these pieces work so well together made me a very happy quilter!
I used an Aurifil variegated thread in the quilting with a big loopy design. I didn’t want to quilt it too heavily so it would stay cuddly and soft. The thread I used was #4659 and I am really pleased with how it looks.
The backing is almost as cute as the front. The 30’s print I found is as cute as can be. Look at those fun girls and boys!
The binding is a happy little polka dot that compliments all the colors and I think it is perfect.
And here’s another pic, just because….
I love this little quilt and can definitely recommend the Sea Star pattern. I hope you like it as much as I do if you try it.
Linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts, Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Show off Saturday and Pink Doxies. Have a great weekend!
I love all of the orange prints in the quilt, it turned out beautifully! Thank you so much for testing the pattern for me!
Your fabrics really do play so well together. I also love how you quilted it to keep it snugly. I have a hard time quilting such a large design.
Very sweet quilt! This pattern is simple and effective. I wonder how it would look with a print on print where the pattern was just slightly visible? And, don’t laugh, but I think your backing is just adorable with the binding! I love the reproduction prints, and this was a good place to show off the fun print. When we use them in lttle piecing, it’s hard to get a real feel of the print. It looks wonderful in a larger scale here.
Thanks for sharing on Pink Doxies Pet Project Show this weekend, Beth.

that is an adorable little quilt!
What a sweet quilt!
I like it! That is a perfect binding for it, too.
Beautiful quilt, Beth. I just love the colors. Such a warm, sweet, cozy quilt for a child! Love it!
so cute, I love the backing fabric you chose and I think the loops were the perfect choice
The binding print is just so perfect for this quilt – I love it when you find that just right fabric to pull it all together! 🙂
Great job with color selection and backing fabric! I really like this block. I’ll have to check out the pattern.
Great job, Beth!! Can’t wait to see the other one!! Color scheme works beautifully with that pattern.
