During the past two weeks our family has had to deal with some unexpected challenges and I found myself mostly unplugging from social media. While I haven’t been posting, I have been busy in my sewing room and have lots to share with you over the next few days. I want to say thanks to everyone for understanding that I needed to step away for a little while, and for your support. I really appreciate you!!
One of the items on my To Do list for 2015 was to join an online group such as a bee or swap. I’m so happy I was able to join a bee hosted by Blossom Heart Quilts. However, after I signed up and we started making our first blocks, I realized my stash is probably not big enough to make all the blocks this year strictly from my stash as we are suppose to do. What’s a girl to do? Answer: Buy more fabric! 🙂
I started by ordering a Sea Glass fat quarter bundle from FWFS and was so excited when it arrived. I don’t know why, but lately I’ve had a thing for blue/green/teal/aqua. (Wait until you see Anthony’s quilt!)
I can’t get enough of these prints!
Included in the bundle were: (clockwise from top)
- Stitched Squares Emerald – Michael Miller
- Field Day Prairie Park Blue – Blend
- Primrose Garden Dot Aqua – Riley Blake
- Mariposa Damask Turquoise – Windham
- Garden Pindo Meadow – Michael Miller
- Stitched Squares Green – Michael MIller
- Treasure Map Crosshatch Blue – Riley Blake
- Mini Confetti Dots Blue – Dear Stella
I think these are my two favorites. I definitely see some yardage of the Crosshatch Blue in my future!
Fort Worth Fabric Studio offers a specially curated bundle of fabrics every Friday, available in fat quarters or half yard cuts. For me, it’s a great way to build my stash and in colors I don’t have (or don’t have enough of). Nope, this isn’t an advertisement for FWFS but it could be! I really like their customer service and appreciate the fast shipping.
I ordered last week’s Friday bundle and can’t wait for it to get here. It’s called Citrus – think juicy oranges and limes – yum! 🙂
These fabrics are my crush for this week – they are so yummy! I would love to see what you are excited about and what you are working on this week. You can link up any blog post or Instagram pic – here’s how:

That fabric is gorgeous! Thanks for the yummy pix.
I am glad to hear that sewing has been therapeutic for you. Beautiful shades of fabrics.

Those are some yummy fabrics. You’ll have to use a few if your bee quilt needs to be rounded out.
I am glad to hear that sewing / quilting has been a good outlet for you. You and your family continue to be in my thoughts, Beth. I really look forward to seeing what you have been up to! 🙂
That’s a new to me line of fabric…so sweet. Looking forward to seeing what you make.
