Saturday was SO cold here and the wind was blowing super hard and the snow was flying everywhere. Is it any wonder I didn’t trek to the end of the driveway to get my mail? Hubby was gone all day and didn’t get home until 8pm, which is when he brought the mail in.
I was kicking myself when he did because there was a squishy package addressed to me – an unexpected one. And I had left it in the mailbox ALL DAY!!
I received the first of the bee blocks – yes, I’m Queen for February in our swarm – and I’ve got to say I am so excited! This is the first bee I’ve participated in so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This package really blew me away! I was so excited to have a block, but then Colleen (she blogs at Fancy Foot Farm – check it out) included so many extra’s. She even sent me some California sunshine and it worked, the sun is beautiful as I write this! 🙂
First – the block. I asked for teal/blue/green/aqua colors using Kona White as the background. This is the block I received:
And see how great it looks with the sample block I made:
I can’t wait to add the others to see how this quilt is going to look. So exciting…
The zipper pouch Colleen made is amazing! I love all the bee details she added. Don’t you just adore this front panel?
And the sweet bee zipper pull:
Okay, I know I’m sounding a lot excited but that’s because I am. I can’t say enough thank you’s to Colleen for this package. I’m going to be busy coming up with something as special for her when she is Queen, as well as all the other ladies in our group!!
So there’s my crush for this week, and it’s a good one don’t you think? I would love to see what you are excited about and working on this week. You can link up any blog post or Instagram pic – here’s how:

I really like your bee blocks! What a wonderful package to receive. I visited all the blogs, but most of them are blogspot with embedded comment boxes that won’t let me comment. I did try, though!
The fussy-cutting in that block is striking! I love your bee purse too. 🙂 http://www.quiltartbymegan.com
Aww Beth, I’m glad my package brought you some sunshine. I love the two blocks together. I’m very visual, so it’s hard for me to imagine how this will turn out once you have all the blocks. Hope you are warmer today.
Wow, what an awesome delivery, Beth! 🙂
