Remember last week when I said I was having a bit of a tough time writing the piecing instructions for my new pattern? Well, I’m happy to report that the pattern is written (yay!), and I am in the process of making the quilt to make sure I’ve got everything right.
Lots of happy dancing going on here! Because that means I was able to cut into those fabulous Grunge fabrics. Oh my….talk about pretty! I really do like the look of that bundle but I love it so much more after I starting working with it.
Here’s a look at them after I finished cutting the fabric.
And here are snippets of each on the design wall, looking so artistic hanging out together.
I was gone over the weekend, so I didn’t get any sewing time. But I am ready to tackle these pretties today and can’t wait to spend some serious time in front of my sewing machine!
In case you couldn’t tell, 😉 this fabric line and project is my crush for this week’s Main Crush Monday. I think it’s a good one!
Speaking of good crushes – there were some great ones last week. Here’s a peek at a few of them. I hope you had (have) a chance to visit them:
Tracy @ Pursuing Joy made a friendship Trip Around the World quilt for a friend she doesn’t get to see very often. The story she tells is as special as the quilt that she calls Out of the Blue.

Linda @ The Pieceful Kingdom is making two versions of the Gypsy Wife quilt, and I really like her neutral version. It reminds me of this mini quilt I made a few weeks ago, and I’m seriously loving neutral color palettes.

How’s this for inspiration? Sally @ Q-Bits-Salmagundi is using her tableware as inspiration for the table runners she likes to make. Isn’t this so pretty?

Now it’s your turn to share what you are currently crushing on. Your crush can be anything sewing/quilting related and can be fabric, a new gadget, a project…whatever has you excited to be in your sewing space! You can link up any blog post, Instagram or Flickr pic – here’s how:

Yea for a break through. Now let your creative juices flow anew!
I agree, those grunge fabrics are lovely, certainly not grungy. I can hardly wait to see what you’re making with them.
Yay for getting your pattern written! Loving those grunge prints!
Love those grunge fabrics. Can’t wait to see the big reveal. Congratulations on finishing the instructions. It’s a good feeling.
I just love seeing those grunge prints all cut up. Now to waiting on what they look like put back together. I think it was a weekend of the no sews for some reason. But a certain package finally arrived and is all set up 😉
Love Grunge! Just added Licorice Medley to the linky, which uses Grunge – love it!
I’m glad you got your pattern kinks worked out! You know, I always feel like I really learn things best once I have explained them to other people. I’ll bet your pattern instructions get easier and easier to write with each new one that you release. Good for you!
Congratulations on getting the pattern written, that is wonderful news! I hope you have a great week of sewing. 🙂
There’s that wonderful grunge group again — glad you have cut into them, and can hardly wait to see the result. Thanks for the feature this week. It’s always a thrill to have someone acknowledge my efforts!! Sally
looking forward to seeing your quilt progress – I have thought about that Gypsy Quilt numerous times – it might be time to get the pattern seeing as it has not left my mind
I am loving that fabric! 🙂
So much color! My favorite kind of quilt. I’m looking forward to seeing your new project come together.
It is hard to cut into pretty fabric, but the result will be lovely.
Beth, soooo looking forward to whatever colorful concoction you are working on. Those colors are so rich!
