It’s time for another Main Crush Monday!
My project list this week looks much the same as last week; I had so much going on there was very little time to sew. Hopefully I will make more progress this week….
I have three tops to quilt and two throw size quilts to piece. Somewhere in there is a finish this week, I can just feel it!
I did get the Birds & Butterflies top basted and started on the quilting. This design will take me some time to do. It is an allover pattern of continuous flowers and loops. I am being extra careful with the spacing of the flowers so there won’t be large gaps of unquilted areas. Here’s a shot of the quilt waiting for me at the machine:
My quilting space looks kind of small here doesn’t it? I have two tables that I place on either side of this table, which forms a U shape work space and works beautifully to spread the quilts out on while I’m quilting. It’s a set up that works well for me and my space.
I also made test blocks for the sports themed quilts I’ll be working on. You know me and quilty math – we are not a good match. So, after I decided on the top I made test blocks to make sure my calculations were correct. This also helps me with determining the yardage I need.
This is only one of the blocks that will be in the quilt and of course this is not the fabric I will be using. There will be a second block with flying geese — my first time making geese! — and they actually were pretty easy to make. The fabric for these two quilts is just waiting for me to cut into it.
So this is what I will be working on this week. See, I’ve got some BIG crushes! 🙂
What are you crushing on this week? I would love to see what projects you are working on. You can link up any Instagram pic or blog post – here’s how:

Your flowers are looking great! I hope you have a fun, productive Quilty week.
HI Beth – My sewing machine looks a bit like that too. I have jelly roll strips in mine. Happy MCM and have a great week.
