Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a good weekend, and for all my friends in the states I hope you had a happy Independence Day celebration last week. Hubby and I didn’t do the traditional BBQ. Instead, we visited the Mountain State Arts & Crafts Festival in Cedar Lakes, WV with friends. It’s a fantastic festival and the organizers do such a wonderful job pulling everything together. The only bad thing about the day was how hot it was. We were under a heat advisory with the heat index reaching about 105F. We weren’t able to stay as long as we would have liked – we got the heck out of there and found some air conditioning. I ended up suffering from some heat sickness for a couple of days, but am all better now.
Even though my week didn’t go quite as planned, you’ll be happy to hear I finished two more blocks on my Midnight Mystery quilt. That’s a total of 3 blocks! Only five more to make. This UFO is going to be finished {hopefully} before the end of the year! LOL
Because I’m making such good progress on the MM quilt-along (did you hear the bit of sarcasm in my voice just now?), I have decided to jump in and join the #100Days100Blocks2018 quilt-along that’s going on over on Instagram. I’m not sure why I decided to add this to my daily To Do list but I did. We are on the third day right now and I have managed to keep up. Let’s all do a happy dance, okay? The real question though is how long I’ll be able to stay on top of the QAL. I’m optimistic, but also pretty realistic. If I fall behind, one of you please kick me to get me back on track!
I’m going to build my quilt using fabrics from this Blueberry Park fat quarter bundle I’ve had in my stash forever:
I will also be pulling fabrics from my scrap bins to fill in. My loosely formed plan is to have some kind of rainbow order layout, but a lot can change in 100 days.
Here are my first two blocks:
It’s not too late to join in. You can follow the 100 Days hashtag (#100Days100Blocks2018) on Instagram for lots of color inspiration.
That’s it for my crush this week. I hope to make more progress on both projects, as well as finish up some customer quilts. What do you have planned?
I hope you’ll share your crush for this week – what has you excited to be in your sewing space? You can link up any blog post, Instagram or Flickr pic – here’s how:

I wish you luck in your 100 day challenge! Oh my! Those colors are gorgeous! I’m looking forward to seeing this beauty in the making!
Your fabric and blocks are gorgeous!
I don’t blame you for joining another QAL. They can be irresistable.
Hi Beth!!!! Your 100 days quilt will be stunning with those Blueberry Park prints! I have so enjoyed having ongoing blocks/quilts happening between the “biggies”…this will be fun to watch come together! Glad to finally have something to share here!!!
I’m doing the 100 Days 100 Blocks too! I’m super excited to see you doing yours with Blueberry Park!
The high heat certainly zapps you. I’m glad you are feeling better. Those are wonderful fabrics you are using. Thanks for hosting the linky party.
Oh Blueberry Park, how I love thee. I have the entire line but have yet to open the FQ bundles. I will be watching this space closely for all the eye candy and the inspiration.
Wishing you loads of luck in being able to keep up with the 100 blocks. I know that I would never be able to do it. Lots of piecing and quilting in my next couple weeks. I need to use up lots of fabric to make room for the stuff that is sitting all over my counters!
I’m glad you are feeling better; being that hot can really be hard on the body. The fabrics you have selected for the #100Days100Blocks2018 quilt along are lovely and it will be fun to see them come together for you!
Beautiful fabrics, and pretty blocks!
I just used those in a quilt and loved working with them. This will be such a fun quilt!
You can do it!!! by the way – get back to that machine and get block 4 done – ha ha! What a fun quilt that will be!
I jumped in officially this year too! I’ll look for you on IG but those are great! I am thinking I’m going to use my Blueberry Park for Cheryl’s Plus QAL..
I love the fabric placement in block 2.
nice blocks – 4th was too hot for me to do anything outside – I have learned from the past that I can only be outside for a little bit when it is really hot outside – I do not do well in extremely hot weather glad you are better now
The heat did make it hard to do much on the 4th of July. Sorry you had ill effects for a few days. Your new project is off to a great start.
Oh my, what beautiful colors! You have an eye for colors. Thanks for sharing!
