Main Crush Monday
Let’s talk about Main Crush Monday.
A few weeks ago I had the TV on while I was playing around with some fabric I’d just received in the mail. I heard a girl talking about Main Crush Monday and thought to myself, this fabric is my crush today. And then I thought, I bet other people play with their fabric and crush on it too, wouldn’t it be nice to see what others are working with or see the projects they’re working on?
So, I’d like to invite you to link up anything at all that you are feeling super excited about – it can be a fabric line, a print, a project, a block, a pattern, a new tool, your sewing room, sewing machine, an entire quilt, whatever.
It’s also a good time to get feedback from others. For example, I have the Rosewater Jelly Roll and I’m not sure what project to use it on. Someone in quilt blog land might have a pattern it would be perfect for.
Each week I’ll have a link so you can link your blog post that describes your crush.
FYI: My niece informed me that what I heard was Man Crush Monday. I had to laugh – I guess I heard what I wanted to hear!!! 🙂

MCM #174: A Grateful Panel Quilt, and Chocolate Pudding
Happy Monday! Last week was the week of the panel quilts. I shared two of them here on Friday, and have another one to show you today. I really like everything about this particular panel - the message, the muted colors, the simplicity of the print. It was a quick top...

MCM #173: Bees are Buzzing, and Dr. Suess Made a Quilt
The weather outside hasn't been the greatest lately. It's not what I'd call bee friendly. But bees were definitely buzzing around the Cooking Up Quilts studio last week! This fabric line is from Deb Strain for Moda and I think it's adorable. This is the second quilt I...

MCM #172: Where Does The Time Go?
Hi there! How are you? I'm doing well, but apparently I'm a week behind. I don't know if you noticed, but I totally didn't post MCM last week. What was up with that?!? I'm going to chalk it up to 'brain fog' and the fact that my days are running into each other and...

MCM #171: A Mash-Up of Last Weeks Happenings
Last week was a mix of ups and downs for me. I thought I was handling this whole virus/stay-at-home/social distancing thing pretty well. Turns out I might not be dealing with it as well as I thought. I decided to stay away from the news and try to focus on only...

MCM #168: Quilting Pearl’s Basket Quilt and Sharing a Heirloom
It feels like so much has happened in the past week around the world and it really has our heads spinning. I fully intended to make it back to the blog before now and share another quilt from our local quilt show with you. It's hard to believe that it's been a week -...

MCM #167 – Quilting ‘English Garden’, a Judy Neimeyer Quilt
The Mid-Ohio Valley Heritage Quilt Show is being held this week at the Blennerhassett Museum. This local show is held every March and there is always so much eye candy to enjoy. I was blessed to have been given the opportunity to quilt a few of the quilts that were...

Moon Garden Quilt and Return of Main Crush Monday
One of the best things about my job as a longarm quilter is getting to see (touch, drool over) all the different quilts people bring to me. Some of the tops are simple patchwork piecing, some use more advanced techniques, and a few of them are made with so much skill...

MCM #165: Quilting Birds and Roasting Pumpkins
Hello Everyone - It's been a few weeks since I've written anything here so it's high time I chimed in and updated you on what's been happening in my little corner of the world. At the end of August I took a break, flew to Florida with my best friend and her sister,...

MCM #164: Deep in the Pink
Good Morning, Monday Main Crushers! Today I'm sharing a sweet pink quilt made by Robin for her sweet granddaughter. Isn't it fabulous? Robin asked for the quilting to be 'something girly', so I chose to use the Smitten digital design I used on the wedding quilt made...

MCM #163: Buzzzzzzy as a Bee
Welcome to another steamy Main Crush Monday! It's gonna be a warm one here today, so all a girl can do is hang out in her sewing room with the AC on. 🙂 I finished several customer quilts last week and also made a lot of binding. Those bindings all have to be stitched...
