It’s crush time! 🙂
A couple weeks ago I told you about a quilt-along I was going to participate in that is sponsored by Crazy Mom Quilts. You can read my post here, and get info on the quilt-along here.
I’m never confident in my fabric choices because I have so much to learn about colors that work together. But I picked out several fat quarters I thought would work in the rail fence pattern we’re doing.
I’ve gotta tell you – the more I work with these fabrics, the more I like them. So far I’ve cut the strips, sewn them together, and am now cutting them into 6-1/2″ blocks.
They are pretty vibrant colors — maybe too vibrant — and I don’t think these pictures really show that. I’ve got to get a better camera and some photography lessons….. Oops, squirrel! Anyway, for some reason I’ve really been drawn to bright colors recently. Maybe because they come across as happy and because they remind me of hot summer days, which I love.
So these colors are bright. I mean, get out your sunglasses! 🙂
We’ll have to wait to see how this all comes together, but for now I’m pretty happy with it. I hope to get time this week to work on the quilt. I’ll keep you updated on my progress.
So this is my crush for this week. Bright and colorful quilt blocks that make me happy and feel good when I’m working on them.
What is your Main Crush today?
I read your blog for first time and love your colors, what you have to say, but best of all, your humor. “oops, squirrel!” I’m going to try saying that at work!
I love the bright colors, that’s a fun combination! I look forward to seeing it finished, I’m sure it will make a nice, bright, summertime quilt!
I love the bright colors you have chosen, and I look forward to seeing how they come together! 😉
