I’m so excited to have a finish to show you I can hardly stand it! 🙂 Seems like I’ve been sewing for a long time with not one thing actually finished. But no longer – I managed to finish something!
This sweet little beauty is called “Lollipop”. You might remember I showed you the flimsy here, and told you it was inspired by a disappearing nine patch that Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs was working on. The top has been finished for a while, I just had to find the time to baste and quilt it. It was a really fun project for me – all scraps and fun quilting.
Now for more pictures!
See that print on the top? That is the inspiration for the name of this quilt. Looks like a lollipop, don’t you think?
And this bird! I love this piece of fabric. It was one my niece picked for a pillow we made together for her.
The back is a wonderfully soft flannel from Riley Blake (I think). It feels so soft and cuddly.
This shows the detail of the quilting. I used a loopy flower design with a swirl thrown in here and there. It has been a little while since I’ve quilted this design and it is a fun one to do.
I really enjoyed making this quilt. Everything came from my scrap bins or fabric stash. I did buy some Quilters Dream white batting since the only thing I had on hand was Warm and Natural. I really wanted that white background to be white.
I can’t wait to make another scrap baby quilt. Hmmm, fabric from the green bin? Blue? Both? Guess I’ll find out when I actually start working on it! 🙂
