Me and paper piecing are learning to co-exist and I must say, we are starting to get along pretty well.
For our June Bee Hive block, our swarm mate Beth asked us to make the Houndstooth block using black as a background and any low volume fabric as the accent. Here’s what I ended up doing:
This block is pretty easy, but it still took me three tries to get it right. My problem was my seam allowance. It was too big, even using my quarter inch foot, so I had to move the needle to the right to make the seam allowance smaller.

I love those little frogs with their crowns! Now I just have to add some goodies to the package and it will be ready for the mail. Woohoo! A finish this week! 🙂

The frog print is so much fun. Nice work with the block, points are so perfect.

I like your block! This would look great in a quilt! The little frogs are fun.
I think it is super cute. I’m the queen of my hive this month and I picked the tic tac toe block, because I really love the look when it is all put together.
Your paper piecing is so precise. Wonderful job. That block looks like you are an old pro at it. I love the frog fabric? Do you know what line it comes from? I seem to be collecting turtles and elephants lately for some future project. Have a great weekend.
I love the accuracy. . . not fond of the paper 😉 Your block looks fabulous! Every time I see a houndstooth block I feel like I HAVE to make a quilt. . . I don’t know that I’ve ever seen it paper pieced before, very interesting!
That block will make a striking quilt. Good luck with your paper piecing. I don’t think I’ll ever be friends with it. =)
