I was so glad to have the opportunity to complete another baby quilt testing the “Looking Glass” pattern by Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs. Cheryl’s patterns are well written and easy to follow – I hope you’ll grab one up, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
The pattern is available in 4 sizes and is great for charm packs or layer cakes. I chose to do the baby quilt size.
It worked up fast and I had it done in no time. These are the kind of projects I like!
I used the Betty Dear Charm Pack by Robert Kaufman and the solid is Bella Off White. I love this mix of fabrics and kept the completed top on the design wall for a few days because it was such a cheerful addition to my sewing room.
Every time I walked by it I smiled, so I decided to name the quilt “Happy”. I know, it’s a bit dorky, but I really do smile when I see it so I figured I’d go with it.
I pieced some extra blocks for the back and love that the quilt is ‘reversible’. The binding was a Kona solid I had in my stash and I think it’s a perfect binding.
The quilting is wavy lines I did horizontally. I didn’t try to keep them even, I just kept it loose and let it flow. I love the texture it gave and it’s so cuddly it will be perfect for a baby.

It really is happy! What a great fabric line. It will be a great quilt for some lucky baby that’s going to love those bright colors. Fun pattern!
Beautiful! I love your version, it is definitely happy! Thank you so much for pattern testing for me 🙂
This looks so happy, I love the colors, and how they bounce off the white background. I also really like the wavy line quilting, makes it look extra soft!
Darling! I love how you quilted it. It looks so soft and snugly.
Baby quilts are so much fun to work on, aren’t they Beth? This one does seem extra happy, and the soft quilted waves are great. I think it is really cool that you are pattern testing for Cheryl.
I love to make baby quilts. Now I need to make a few more to keep on hand!! Usually I just use up my fabrics in squares, but I really like this pattern!
Great quilt, lucky baby!! I love the fabrics and design. I will definitely check out Cheryl’s site. Thanks!
