This week has been very busy and a lot of fun. Our kids spent time with us at the beginning of the week so we got in some pool time, cooked out together, and the guys went golfing. They then decided we should go ‘Geo Caching’.  Have you ever been?  It was my first time and I enjoyed running around the neighborhood and watching the kids search for treasure.

After our kids left hubby and I trekked off to Cleveland to visit the in-laws. While we were there we visited a farmers market and ended up bringing home 8 quarts of strawberries. So good!

Needless to say, I’ve gotten NO SEWING done this week!  None.  Nada.  But, I did get fabric in the mail — yippee!! — so I can finally get back to work on the Dresden quilt I’m working on. Thanks to a suggestion by Yvonne of Quilting Jetgirl, I’ve come up with an idea of how I might make this quilt work. I just hope I can translate what’s in my head to an actual quilt!

I’m also ready to sew the blocks together for the rail fence quilt I’m doing as part of the quilt-along with Crazy Mom Quilts. I really like the bright colors in this quilt and I can’t wait to see it finished.

So, since I haven’t had time to sew this week, my finish for the week is not sewing related. But it’s one I’m seriously psyched about.  My finish this week is 30 jars of strawberry jam!I’m so excited to have the time to do this. Look at all those jars! I feel like a Pioneer Woman! 🙂

Homemade Strawberry Jam

Imagine how yummy this jam will be in the winter. Oh yeah!!

As for quilting, my plan is to make some serious progress in the sewing room this weekend.  I hope you have a sew-fully productive and happy weekend too!
