As promised, I took outdoor pics of the mini whole cloth quilt I talked about in this weeks Main Crush Monday post. It was overcast and an extremely windy day, but I managed to get two halfway decent pictures. I’m glad this little guy wasn’t any bigger – it would have been blown away. The neighbors would NOT want to see me chasing my quilt across the yard! 🙂
I used Yvonne’s (Quilting Jetgirl) tip on temporarily hanging quilts for photographing. (You can see a video she made by clicking here.) I find using painters tape is a perfect way to hang a quilt to take pictures however, don’t use Frog Tape. It just doesn’t work for this. Great for painting, not for quilts. Today I used the Frog Tape and about lost the quilt to the wind. The blue painter’s tape works much better and will hold up a large throw quilt.
And the next picture….
I used Superior’s So Fine! 50w thread in #507 Galileo. It is a beautiful blue/green/silvery looking thread that I fell in love with. I can’t wait to find another project to use it for.
Have a great Tuesday!

Beautiful quilting! I’ve used Yvonne’s tape trick several times, works great!
Beautiful! The muted light does a great job of showing off all the texture. Thanks for sharing the painters tape tip.
I just love your quilting on this! I just got a feathers class from Craftsy that I’m anxious to try!
I love this! I love this! I love this! I used that bracket/feather/kathleen’s magic shape thing in a quilting I’m quilting right now. I love how it looks, but it took a few tries to get the feathers right. Glad you were able to snap some pictures. The wind has been crazy.
Your quilt looks even prettier outside. Great job!
I am so glad the tape trick worked well enough for you even in the wind today! The quilt looks great and I can definitely see how lovely the thread is that you used in the photos; the binding pulls the color out beautifully, too.
