Yay!!!! All the Disappearing 9 Patch blocks are done! I’m so excited with the way this quilt top is turning out. Each step brings it closer to completion and I can’t wait to see it when it’s finally done.
The fabric is 30’s Playtime by Chloe’s Closet for Moda Fabrics. I fell in love with this fabric as soon as I saw it. I bought two charm packs, not knowing what I would do with it. As soon as it arrived and I saw it in person, I knew it would be perfect for this quilt.
After putting together the blocks I decided the quilt wouldn’t be large enough so I ordered two more charm packs. I was able to get 18 blocks from the 4 packs, but after placing the blocks on my design wall, I wanted another row. Guess what? I needed 11 more 5″ squares to have enough blocks for that last row. So off to the quilt shop for me!! I DID NOT want to have to order and wait for another charm pack. (Patience is something I’m always working on…) I found four 30’s prints from Windham Fabrics that worked and Ta-da! I had that last row!
I’ve blended the blocks, and think it would be difficult for someone to find where I put the new fabric pieces. Kinda like “where’s Waldo”…….. Oh, and one of the blocks is put together differently than the others, but it was planned. Yep. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it)
Next up is squaring the blocks and then putting them together. Hopefully this quilt will be a finish soon!
