I know it seems as if I’ve dropped out of the blogosphere recently, but I’m happy to report that’s not true.  I spent a week in bed with the worst cold I think I’ve ever had, so I’ve been dealing with that. Good news is that while I was down I still managed to get some sewing and other work done!

Now that I’m feeling better I’m anxious to get back to my regular schedule – which includes updating you on what’s happening in my part of the quilty world.

I’m excited to tell you that I have started offering machine quilting services. I’ve been really busy working on getting the business side of Cooking Up Quilts set-up and that’s one of the reasons it’s been so quiet around here.

I have been so blessed to be able to complete the quilting on four beautiful quilts in the last two weeks for some amazing girls. In all the hustle and bustle of packaging the quilts for shipping to their homes I forgot to take pictures of my work. Duh…….  Hopefully that won’t happen in the future!

I also received an order for two large quilts last Thursday while having lunch out with my hubby. Yay! One will be a Christmas gift, so I have to get started on that! Thankfully, I’ve got the fabric ordered, so now I’m just waiting for it to arrive.  I’m going to use this lull in my schedule to get the sewing room cleaned up and a bit more organized.  It’s amazing how many batting bunnies can gather in the corners of that room!

Since I don’t have pics of the quilting I’ve been doing, I’m giving you this pic instead:

Baby Bubble Blanket

Have you ever made a bubble quilt? Okay, I think it’s really a blanket cause there’s no piecing or quilting going on. This is the first commission I received, and I said yes before I knew the client wanted a bubble blankie. Let me say, I will NEVER make another of these. Not even for any future grand babies we may have. 😀

Don’t get me wrong, it’s cute and all but it’s a total time drain. I’ve spent hours on this and just finished it up this afternoon. I’m so excited to have it checked off my WIP list.

But then, while I was taking this pic I noticed the screw-up I made.  Can you spot it?  It is sooooooo frustrating! Guess it’s not really ready to be marked off my list just yet.  Sigh.

I also have Christmas gifts I need to get started on just like most of you. Those should be fun and I’m looking forward to sitting down at my machine and piecing.

I hope you are having a great November and have been having fun sewing. Now, I’m off to work on those bubbles! 🙂
