Remember the poinsettia fabric that found its way home with me last week? I was able to spend most of Tuesday and Wednesday sewing, and one of the projects I finished was a table runner made from those fabrics.
Here’s the fabric before….
…..and here it is after:
I really like how the dark fabric picks up the darkness of the flowers. However, my favorite part is the binding. I love how it frames the runner and lightens up the piece, keeping it from being too dark.
I kept the quilting super simple, just ditch stitching the stars and the blocks. I had originally thought I would do something in the sashing and borders, but once I had all the outline stitching finished, the quilt told me to stop. I’m glad I did because I really like how the focus is on the fabric and not on the quilting.
I made this table runner for the craft show I’ll be attending on Saturday. If it doesn’t sell, it will find a permanent home on my Christmas table – that’s how much I like it. If it does sell (fingers crossed!) I’ll be making another one of these for myself. So no matter what, it’s a win/win for me!
I do think I’ll be a bit more particular and fussy cut those flowers for the center of the star blocks if I get to make another one. But that would be the only thing I would change.
Wish me luck, have a great weekend and I hope you get in some stitching time!!

Wonderful work! Thanks for linking up to Finished or Not Friday!
I like the light binding as well. I may need to do that because my new table is a darker wood. Thanks for sharing your beautiful runner.
It’s beautiful Beth! Looks great on your table. I hope you had a wonderful time at the craft show.

Have fun at the show! I’m guessing you won’t be bringing this one back home! And I agree about the binding, it frames it nicely.
